Gannon Men's Golf Team in Fourth Place After First Day of Mercyhurst Invitational

ERIE, Pa. - The Gannon men’s golf team sits in fourth place out of 11 teams after the first day of the Mercyhurst Fall Invitational hosted by the Downing Golf Course.
Millersville and Daemen are tied for the team lead after the first round with a pair of 296s. Indiana (Pa.) (297) and Gannon (300) were next in the standings. West Chester (302) and Le Moyne (302) are tied for fifth place.
Drew Deimel (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep) was Gannon’s top golfer, ending the first round tied for sixth place with a 72.
Corey Bowers (12th, 74),
Rob Hersch (T13th, 75),
Derek Aicher (T36th, 79) and
Jason Ramus (T56th, 87) completed Gannon’s five-member team. Bowers tied a season-low with his 74 on Saturday.
Matt Barnes (T21st, 77),
Dom Lombardi (T45th, 81) and
Jake Scott (T52nd, 85) also competed as individuals.
The Mercyhurst Fall Invitational concludes Sunday, October 11 with the second and final round.
