EDINBORO, Pa. - The Gannon women’s cross country team finished 15th out of 16 teams at the 2009 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Cross Country Championships hosted by Edinboro University Saturday afternoon. The event was run in rainy and windy conditions that left the course filled with mud and standing water.
Shippensburg won the team title with 77 points. Bloomsburg (95), Slippery Rock (106), Lock Haven (134) and Kutztown (147) completed the top five.
Millersville (151), Clarion (204), Edinboro (209), Mansfield (236) and West Chester (246) rounded out the top 10. Gannon placed 15th with 377 points.
Brittany Zaborowski (Mars, Pa./Mars Area) led the Lady Knights with a 64th-place finish, completing the 6K course in 25 minutes and 20.7 seconds. Gannon’s seven scoring runners averaged 25 minutes and 58.3 seconds.

Madison Steward (81st, 26:09.1),
Jenna Szczepanski (87th, 26:44.1),
Kathleen Driving Hawk (98th, 27:26.6) and
Kristin O’Hern (100th, 27:32.5) completed Gannon’s seven-member scoring team.
Christina Estes (27:41.2),
Kenzi Buckham (27:42.8) and
Dana Hyde (27:48.6) also ran for the Lady Knights, but did not place high enough to record team points.
Gannon returns to action Saturday, November 7 at the NCAA Division II East Regionals hosted by Mansfield University.
