MEADVILLE, Pa. - The Gannon women’s golf team continued its stellar play this fall season with a third-place finish out of 11 teams Thursday afternoon at the Allegheny Invitational hosted by the Country Club of Meadville.
Allegheny won the team title with a 316. Walsh (322), Gannon (343), Allegheny’s B team (346) and Clarion (350) completed the top five.
The host school’s Hannah Schonau-Taylor captured the individual title with a one-over-par 74.
Amanda Eckhart (Lehighton, Pa./Marian Catholic) was Gannon’s top golfer, tying for fourth place with a season-low 79.
Kelly Nickerson (T13th, 83),
Emily Quinn (T24th, 88),
Allyssa Ferriell (T34th, 93) and
Katie Lyons (T47th, 103) completed Gannon’s five-member team.
Rhiannon Ray competed as an individual, finishing in a tie for 18th place with an 85.
Gannon concludes the fall season Saturday, October 17 and Sunday, October 18 at the 2009 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships hosted by the Wrendale Golf Course in Hummelstown, Pa.
