ERIE, Pa. - Gannon student-athletes will be taking a break from their normal competition to compete against each other for a good cause.

The Gannon Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has announced a student-athlete fundraiser for the Trocki family. Student-athletes will compete in a talent show Sunday, November 22 at the Hammermill Center. The event is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. Those in attendance will be asked for a $2 donation at the door. Concession stands will also be open during the event.

“We wanted to do something as an athletic population to help raise money and show our support for Sandy Zirkle-Trocki (‘98) and her two daughters,” said SAAC representative and women’s cross country runner Rosie Cooper.

Sandy’s husband, John Trocki ‘00, passed away in August. Sandy has been an assistant cross country coach at Gannon for the last 12 seasons. She was a basketball and cross country student-athlete during her collegiate days at Gannon. John also played basketball for Golden Knights during his undergraduate years.
