ERIE, Pa. - The Gannon University women’s soccer team will travel to #25 California (Pa.) for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) quarterfinal match Tuesday, November 3, at 1 p.m.

GU went 10-6-1 overall and 8-5-1 in the PSAC West, finishing fourth in the division. Cal won the West, going 15-4-1 overall and 10-3-1 in the league.

The teams split the season series. The Vulcans won 3-1 at home September 8 and the Knights won 2-1 in Erie October 20. Breanne Radin (Lockwood, N.Y./Spencer-Van Etten) scored two goals in Gannon’s victory at home.

Four PSAC quarterfinal matches will take place Tuesday. Third-seeded Indiana (Pa.) plays at Mercyhurst, the second seed in the Western Division. West Chester won the regular season Eastern Division title and will host Bloomsburg. East Stroudsburg travels to Kutztown in the 2-3 contest.
The four winners Tuesday will travel to the best remaining seed from the East for the conference final four November 6-7.

The Lady Knights are led by Tenyka Francique (Brampton, Ontario/International) and Amanda Sharbaugh (Sarver, Pa./Knoch). Francique has scored 12 goals in 2009, leading the conference in goals per match. Sharbaugh is third in points per contest, having scored nine goals and compiled seven assists. GU is sixth in the NCAA Division II Atlantic regional rankings. California is second in the region.

In 2008, Gannon won the regular season Western Division championship before losing to IUP in a quarterfinal match.
