ERIE, Pa. - Gannon’s
Colleen Dixon (Lafayette, N.Y./Lafayette) and
Molly Meagher (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) have been selected to participate in the 2009 Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA)/Under-Armour North-South Senior All-Star Game.
The NCAA Division II All-Star contest is scheduled for Saturday, June 13 at the United Sports Training Center in Downingtown, Pa., as part of the Champions’ Cup tournament. Thirty-five student-athletes were named to the all-star rosters.
Dixon has been named to the IWLCA All-America second team, the IWLCA All-South Region first team and the
ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II At-Large third team this season.
The Lafayette, N.Y., native posted 54 goals and 28 assists. Her 82 points equaled the 10th-highest single-season total in school history. The senior midfielder was second among PSAC players in points per match (5.12), fourth in assists per match (1.75), and fifth in goals per match (3.38). She ranked 15th nationally in points, 18th in assists per match, 22nd in goals per match, and 28th in ground balls per match (2.94). She finished sixth all-time at Gannon in goals (160), ninth in points (213), and 11th in assists (53).
Meagher was an All-PSAC West second-team selection after recording 45 ground balls, four draw controls, and 18 caused turnovers in 16 contests. The senior defender helped Gannon rank eighth nationally in scoring margin (7.44) and 12th in scoring defense (9.44).
