ERIE, Pa. - The Gannon women's lacrosse team is ranked 10th in the 2010
Lacrosse Magazine's annual NCAA Division II preseason rankings released this week. The preseason rankings are profiled in the January issue of
Lacrosse Magazine while expanded college previews will run in the February issue.
The rankings, compiled by
Lacrosse Magazine staff after consultations with coaches, predict Adelphi to repeat as NCAA Division II champions. The Panthers went 18-0 last season, defeating Lock Haven 16-4 in the national finals.
Dowling (N.Y.), Lock Haven, Mercyhurst and Stonehill (Mass.) completed the top five. C.W. Post (N.Y.), West Chester, Merrimack (Mass.), Limestone (S.C.) and Gannon rounded out the top 10.
Gannon returns nine letterwinners and six starters from last year's 12-4 squad. The program has reached double digits in victories five consecutive seasons and has never recorded a losing season in its 14-year history.

Taryn Millerd (Shortsville, N.Y./Midlakes) is Gannon's top returning scorer with 63 goals, 16 assists, and 79 points. Junior

Rachel DerCola (13-20-33) complete the returning Fab Five.
Acacia Cook (Clay, N.Y./Clay-NS) returns in goal for her final season. The redshirt senior started every match last season, producing a 9.35 goals against average and .528 save percentage.
