ERIE, Pa.- The Gannon men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams host SUNY-Brockport Friday night. The meet is set for 5 p.m. at the Carneval Athletic Pavilion. It will be the Knights’ final home contest of the season.
GU has not competed since December 11, 2009, when they bested SUNY-Fredonia. The Lady Knights won 155-88, while the men took a 134-103 decision. Brockport’s women won 153-139 in a meet with Monroe Community College Wednesday, January 20. The men lost 150.5-148.5 to MCC.
The Lady Knights have won six of their first seven duals this season and took first at the Westminster Relay Meet. Brockport’s women are 2-5 in 2009-2010. Gannon’s men are 4-3, while the Golden Eagles are 3-4 this season.
GU divers
Megan Beresford (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield Area) and
Diana Rocco (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) both qualified for the Division II national championships last season. Brockport’s Maria Quagliana advanced to Division III nationals as a diver in 2009 as well.
