ERIE, Pa. - Gannon’s Kaitlyn Bosy (Courtice, Ontario/Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary) recently ran a 300-meter leg of the 2010 Olympic Torch Relay on December 16. The sophomore swimmer carried the torch through a portion of Omemee, Victoria Country, Ontario.

The Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch Relay is presented by Coca-Cola and RBC and supported by the Government of Canada. Bosy is one of 12,000 Olympic Torchbearers who have been selected to be part of the Olympic Flame’s 106-day, 45,000-kilometer journey. The torch relay will finish in Vancouver on February 12, 2010.

Bosy has competed mostly in freestyle and backstroke events for the Gannon swim team this season. In addition to being named a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Scholar-Athlete and a College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-American as a true freshman, she qualified for the 2009 NCAA Division II National Championships as part of the 400-medley relay team.

The Courtice, Ontario native was part of relay teams that set the school record in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:37.42), the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:31.03), the 800-yard freestyle relay (7:46.43) and the 400-yard medley relay (3:58.41) last season. Individually, she holds the school record in the 100-yard freestyle (52.60).

Tiffany Crocker
Women's Basketball
Crocker led the No. 1 Gannon women's basketball team to its first-ever Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship last weekend at the Hammermill Center. The Lady Knights won the tournament with victories over Edinboro (81-67), Kutztown (81-65) and California (Pa.) (77-68). Crocker was named PSAC Tournament Most Valuable Player after averaging 15.7 points, 7.3 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 2.7 steals in three games. She scored a career-high 27 points against Cal in the PSAC title game, including 22 in the second half. Crocker narrowly missed her second career double-double with nine assists. The Dublin, Ohio native was 7-of-11 from the field, 3-of-5 from three-point range and 10-of-10 from the free throw line. She began the week with 16 points, seven rebounds and six assists against Edinboro in the quarterfinals. Crocker had four points, seven rebounds and seven assists against Kutztown in the semifinals. In all, she dished out 22 assists compared to 10 turnovers in 114 minutes during the tourney.
Greg Radwan
Baseball
Radwan earned two of the Gannon baseball team's four victories last weekend in Winter Haven, Florida. The senior righthander went 2-0 with a 1.93 earned run average in two starts. He allowed only three earned runs while tossing two complete games. Radwan struck out 17 compared to only four walks. The Farnham, N.Y., native limited the opposition to a .226 average. He was even tougher in clutch situations, limited hitters to a .154 (4-26) average with runners on base. Radwan began the week with an 8-1 victory over Hillsdale, striking out 10 and walking two. During a victory against Findlay, he allowed two earned runs on five hits, striking out seven and walking two.
