Gannon Women's Basketball Team Remains No. 1 in Latest Atlantic Regional Rankings

The Gannon women's basketball team remains undefeated and No. 1 in the Atlantic region.

ERIE, Pa. - The Gannon women's basketball team remained No. 1 for the second consecutive week in the latest NCAA Division II Atlantic regional rankings released Wednesday afternoon.

The NCAA regional rankings determine the post-season participants for the NCAA Division II Tournament. Eight teams will play in the Atlantic Regional. Automatic berths will be granted to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC), the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) and the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) champions. Five teams will be granted at-large bids.

The Atlantic Region has changed its post-season format this season. The top two seeds will host four-team regionals March 12-13. The top remaining seed will host the region's title game March 15.

Gannon is the region's top-ranked team with a 22-0 record against Division II opponents and 16-0 mark against in-region opponents. California (Pa.) (15-4, 15-4), West Liberty State (11-5, 11-5), Bowie State (11-4, 11-4) and Glenville State (10-5, 9-4) completed the top five.

Millersville (15-4, 15-4), Charleston (13-4, 13-4), Virginia State (13-4, 12-3), Johnson C. Smith (14-5, 14-5) and Kutztown (13-6, 13-6) rounded out the top 10.

Gannon, which was ranked third in the latest USA Today ESPN Top 25, enters tonight's game at rival Mercyhurst with a 22-0 overall record and 6-0 PSAC Western Division mark. Radwan earned two of the Gannon baseball team's four victories last weekend in Winter Haven, Florida. The senior righthander went 2-0 with a 1.93 earned run average in two starts. He allowed only three earned runs while tossing two complete games. Radwan struck out 17 compared to only four walks. The Farnham, N.Y., native limited the opposition to a .226 average. He was even tougher in clutch situations, limited hitters to a .154 (4-26) average with runners on base. Radwan began the week with an 8-1 victory over Hillsdale, striking out 10 and walking two. During a victory against Findlay, he allowed two earned runs on five hits, striking out seven and walking two.
Tiffany Crocker
Women's Basketball
Crocker led the No. 1 Gannon women's basketball team to its first-ever Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship last weekend at the Hammermill Center. The Lady Knights won the tournament with victories over Edinboro (81-67), Kutztown (81-65) and California (Pa.) (77-68). Crocker was named PSAC Tournament Most Valuable Player after averaging 15.7 points, 7.3 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 2.7 steals in three games. She scored a career-high 27 points against Cal in the PSAC title game, including 22 in the second half. Crocker narrowly missed her second career double-double with nine assists. The Dublin, Ohio native was 7-of-11 from the field, 3-of-5 from three-point range and 10-of-10 from the free throw line. She began the week with 16 points, seven rebounds and six assists against Edinboro in the quarterfinals. Crocker had four points, seven rebounds and seven assists against Kutztown in the semifinals. In all, she dished out 22 assists compared to 10 turnovers in 114 minutes during the tourney.
