SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Bloomfield used a pair of second-half goals to earn a 3-1 victory over Gannon at the Le Moyne Tournament Saturday in Syracuse, N.Y.

Bloomfield started the scoring early on a header from Steven Hobart off a free kick in the ninth minute. The Deacons held the 1-0 advantage until Adam Sharbaugh (Sarver, Pa. / Knoch) put the Golden Knights on the board scoring from three yards out on a crossing pass from Evan Chate (Vendays-Montalivet, France / Odilon Redon).

Bloomfield broke the tie during the 69th minute with an Edwin Ventura goal. The Deacons extended the lead 5 minutes later when Ventura served the ball up to Jack Angelo, who found the back of the net and gave Bloomfield a 3-1 advantage.

The Golden Knights take the loss despite out-shooting Bloomfield 21-12 in the game. Bloomfield goalkeeper Steven Alonso kept Gannon from finding the back of the net, recording seven saves on the day. Bloomfield held a 3-2 advantage in corner kicks and there were 24 fouls in the game.

Gannon drops to 0-1 on the season with the loss, while Bloomfield moves to 2-0. The Golden Knights return to action in Syracuse on Monday, September 6, facing off against New York Institute of Technology at 11:00 a.m.
