ERIE, Pa. – Gannon's
Amanda Sharbaugh (Sarver, Pa./Knoch) has been named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Women's Soccer Player of the Week.
Sharbaugh dished out an assist on Gannon's first scoring play and later netted two goals to ice a 5-0 shutout against rival Mercyhurst last Saturday, helping the Lady Knights secure the seventh seed for this week's PSAC Postseason Tournament. The senior forward scored unassisted in the 57th minute and completed the scoring by redirecting a
Sarah Deck crossing pass into the goal while sliding in the 84th minute.
The Sarver, Pa., native broke Gannon's single-season record for points (39) while assuming sole possession of the school's single-season record for goals (17) Saturday afternoon. In the process, she added to her school career records for goals (51) and points (124). Her 22nd career assist on Gannon's first goal against Mercyhurst brought her within one of Courtney Rowan's (2005-08) school record.
Gannon (9-4-4, 6-4-4) opens the PSAC Tournament Tuesday, November 1 with a quarterfinal contest against Kutztown at West Chester University. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
