ERIE, Pa. - The Gannon acrobatics and tumbling team won 19 of 20 events and steamrolled Adrian (Mich.) 277.19-241.7 Saturday night at the Hammermill Center.

In arguably the most impressive performance of its inaugural season, Gannon dominate the majority of events to complete a season sweep of Adrian. The Lady Knights previously defeated the Bulldogs 264.955-239.655 February 14 in Adrian, Michigan.

Gannon opened Saturday's meet with victories during three of the four compulsory heats. Adrian's only win of the night came during the pyramid heat of the compulsory event. The Lady Knights' best score was a 9.95 during the toss segment. The home squad assumed a 37.15-31.85 lead after the compulsory event.

The lead began to stretch with a Gannon sweep during the acro event. Lindsey McKnight (Erie, Pa./Mercyhurst Prep), Haley Garelick (Valencia, Calif./William S. Hart), Kayla Telego (Knox, Pa./Keystone) and Lindsay Moir (Erie, Pa./McDowell) opened the event with a 9.65-9.07 win during the five-element heat.

Haili Menard (Kingwood, Texas/Kingwood), Paisley Moses (Eugene, Ore./Henry D. Sheldon), Alexa Maldonado (Dundee, Ore./Newberg) and Moir follow with a 9.8-8.88 victory during the six-element heat.

McKnight, Amanda Till (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon), Garelick and Moir wrapped up the acro segment with a 9.41-8.07 decision during the seven-element heat. The clean sweep gave the Lady Knights a 66.01-57.87 lead after two events.

The pyramid event might have been the most dominate for Gannon. The Lady Knights received scores of 9.9, 10 and 9.9 for a 29.8 total. As a result, the advantage grew to 95.81-81.77 heading into halftime.

The second half of Saturday's meet played out much like the first half with a plethora of Gannon victories. The toss event was another clean sweep, giving the Lady Knights a 124.56-108.27 edge after four events.

Gannon went 6-for-6 during the tumble event. Jessica Page (Eden, N.Y./Eden) and Menard opened the segment with an easy 9.4-6.9 win during the duo heat. Page, Menard and McKnight followed with an 8.3-6.6 victory during the trio heat. After another win in the quad heat, Menard posted a 9.73 score to capture the aerial heat. The six-heat segment came to a close with a victories by Till in the six-element heat (9.5) and McKnight in the open heat (9.53). With nearly an 11-point different in the tumble event, Gannon cruised into the team event with a 178.76-151.52 lead.

Head coach Chelsea Shaw's squad put the cap on a great night with a 98.43 score during the final team event, out-scoring Adrian's 90.18 point total. The 19th win of the evening accounted for the final 277.19-241.7 score. Both the team score and margin of victory represented season-highs.

Gannon evened its record at 4-4 with Saturday's victory. Adrian dropped to 1-4. The Lady Knights conclude the regular season Saturday, April 12 against Alderson Broaddus at the Hammermill Center. The home finale is scheduled for 2 p.m.
