GAMEDAY MEDIA CENTER
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Gannon scored first 12:33 into the contest, denting the scoreboard on senior Sammy Valloud's (Erie, Pa./McDowell) eighth goal of the season. Senior Michelle Genetin (Navarre, Ohio/Perry) made the initial pass through a pair of defenders, breaking Valloud behind the defense. She then beat the Bloomsburg goalkeeper to the right.
  • Bloomsburg created a deadlock at halftime, scoring off a corner kick with two minutes remaining in the first half. Chrissy Hollan was credited with the goal, heading in the corner kick taken by Hannah Miller.
  • Gannon controlled the second half, out-shooting Bloomsburg 11-3. The Lady Knights finally broke through in the 62nd minute when senior Becca Albert (Fairview, Pa./General McLane) made a nice move to get the ball to senior Mani Brueckner (Valencia, Pa./Mars Area) in front. Brueckner then beat the goalkeeper into the lower left side of the net for her 17th score of the season.
  • Eleven minutes later, Gannon added an insurance goal. Senior Kaitlyn Kissell's (Erie, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) headed a Brueckner corner kick inside the right post to account for the final 3-1 score.
