Walters, Kren and Ansec Named to NCAA Atlantic Regional All-Tournament Team

WHEELING, W.Va. – Gannon women's volleyball Morgan Walters (Girard, Ohio/Girard), Hannah Kren (Waukesha, Wisc./Wisconsin Lutheran) and Kelsey Ansec (Solon, Ohio/Solon) have been named to the 2015 NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional All-Tournament team. The Lady Knights fell to top-seed Wheeling Jesuit in the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championship match.

Walters concluded her four-year Gannon career at the Atlantic Regional with 109 assists, six service aces and nine blocks over the course of the three matches. She tied Lauren Sazama for service aces in a season (66), and is ranked sixth all-time at Gannon with 182. Walters recorded four aces, 40 assists and a career-high six blocks in a 3-1 victory over Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) champion Shippensburg. She then added 34 assists and two aces in a sweep against West Chester, before concluding the run with 35 assists against top-seed and eventual champion Wheeling Jesuit.

Kren recorded 41 kills (4.10 kills per set), four service aces and 38 digs while hitting .174 throughout the three-match weekend. She recorded her 19th double-double of the season with 18 kills and 17 digs in the opening match against the Raiders. She then hit .314 off 14 kills and only tallied three errors as the Lady Knights defeated the Golden Rams in straight sets. Against Wheeling, she tallied nine kills and 12 digs through the three sets.

Ansec, an outside hitter, recorded 28 kills and five blocks for the Lady Knights through three matches, including 12 kills against Shippensburg. The sophomore then tallied eight more kills and added six blocks in the sweep of West Chester. In the championship match, she tallied eight more kills and her final block of the tournament.

Gannon concluded the 2015 season with 20 or more wins for the seventh straight season. At 24-11, Gannon made its seventh consecutive NCAA Tournament appearnace making the Lady Knights the Gannon only team in any sport to do so.
