The Short Story: The Gannon acrobatics and tumbling team captured its first win of the regular season by defeating Adrian (Mich.), 249.935-210.005, at the Hammermill Center Friday evening. Taking a dominant lead early in the meet, the Lady Knights swept all 20 events to score their highest-point total of the season and largest margin of victory in program history. The win also marked the first career victory for head coach
Chevonne White.

HOW IT HAPPENEDGannon earned a sweep in all six events to secure its first win of the regular season. To open the day, the Lady Knights captured a dominant 34.50-21.75 lead in the compulsory event. GU swept all four heats including a pair of scores at 9.60. One of the Lady Knights' top scores came in the 15-member pyramid heat featuring freshman

The Lady Knights swept all three heats in the acro event to take a commanding 61.96-42.75. The Lady Knights' five-element heat led the way, outscoring Adrian by an advantage of 9.50-6.65. The five-element was comprised of Leclair, Mraz, Heath, Grandinetti and sophomore

The pyramid was one of the closest events in the evening with the Lady Knights earning a 2.5-point victory in the event, 27.65-25.15. Despite scoring their highest total of the day in the flip heat, the Bulldogs fell to the Lady Knights, 9.4-9.1. The heat included freshman
Chelsea Cowan (Erie, Pa./Mercyhurst Prep), Mraz, Nejman, Grandinetti, Robinson, Lawson, Martin and Soper.

In the next event of the toss, the Lady Knights managed to edge the Bulldogs once again by a 2.5-point margin. GU's widest margin of victory in the event came in the synchronized heat, 8.65-7.50. The Lady Knights went a perfect six-for-six in the tumbling event to tack on 45.825 points to their team total heading into the final event.

Holding a commanding 204.11-132.425 lead heading into the final event of the evening, the Lady Knights scored an 88.45 score compared to the Bulldogs' tally of 77.58. The Lady Knights' strong performance early in the meet helped seal the 249.935-210.005 victory over the Bulldogs. The Maroon and Gold's margin of victory of 39.93 marked the widest in program history.

UP NEXTGannon remains home for the next two meets. The Lady Knights open the home stretch against King (Tenn.) March 10 before hosting Alderson Broaddus and Concordia (Wis.) March 21 in a tri-meet. Both meets begin at 7 p.m.
