The Short Story: The Gannon women's water polo team opened the Bucknell Tournament with a 14-5 loss to Brown Saturday afternoon at the Kinney Natatorium. Freshman Francesca Williamson (Chicago, Ill. / Mother McAuley Liberal Arts) led the Lady Knights with a pair of goals.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Brown opened the match with a 5-1 lead at the close of the first quarter. Appearing in her first game of the season, junior Shanen Lazenby (Erie, Pa. / McDowell) scored with 30 seconds remaining in the opening quarter for the team's first goal and her first of the season.
- In the second quarter, the Bears pushed their lead to 7-1 before Williamson recorded her first of two goals on the day with just under five minutes left in the frame. Williamson struck once again in less than a minute to cut into the Bears' lead, 7-3.
- The Bears extended their lead to 9-3 on a goal with three seconds remaining to close the opening half.
- Following a goal by the Bears to open the third quarter, freshman Samantha McGregor (Erie, Pa. / Villa Maria Academy) scored her first career goal as the Bears led 10-4.
- Three straight tallies by Brown pushed its advantage to 13-4 with freshman Makayla Williams (Hudsonville, Mich. / Hudsonville) breaking the run of Bears' goals.
- The Bears tacked on one more tally in the closing minute to seal the 14-5 victory over the Lady Knights.
- Sophomore Emily Rodriguez (Erie, Pa. / Villa Maria Academy) registered four blocks.
- Sophomore Christine Uht (Erie, Pa. / Villa Maria Academy) recorded two assists, while freshman Colleen Bolmanski (Erie, Pa. / McDowell) led the Lady Knights with three steals.
