HOW IT HAPPENED
  • 10:19 into the game, Emily Cekella (Harmony, Pa./Seneca Valley) took a long pass from Brigid Casey (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) and sent the ball into the bottom right corner of the goal to put Gannon up 1-0.
  • Gannon's lead was short-lived as IUP's Gianna Parlavecchio recorded her fourth goal of the season less than three minutes later on a misplaced ball inside the box.
  • The teams headed into halftime all tied up with Gannon holding an 8-6 advantage in shots.
  • In the 62nd minute, Cekella headed in the game-winner on a corner kick by Sarah Kaiser (Erie, Pa./Mercyhurst Prep).
  • Taylor Lewis (Erie, Pa./Harbor Creek) gave the Lady Knights an insurance goal with 5:09 left in the game on a long pass ahead by Kaiser. Lewis dribbled around an IUP defender and beat the keeper for her 14th goal of the season.

  • Since losing to IUP 10 days ago, Gannon has won three games in a row.
  • Lewis has compiled 25 career goals in her two-year career, which is fourth all-time at Gannon. Her 59 points (25 goals/nine assists) is the sixth most in Gannon history.
