ERIE, Pa. - The Pitt-Johnstown women's volleyball team rallied from 2-1 deficit and punched its ticket to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championship match Friday night with a 3-2 victory against Edinboro in the conference semifinals hosted by Gannon at the Hammermill Center. The Mountains Cats posted the victory by scores of 25-23, 22-25, 19-25, 25-21 and 15-11.
Pitt-Johnstown hit .364 during the deciding fifth set to complete the rally. Marissa Erminio led the way with a match-high 25 kills and 15 digs. Cambria Wierman added 11 kills and 13 digs.
Edinboro placed four student-athletes in double digits in kills. Cierah Jackson topped the Fighting Scots with 14 kills. Sydney Trathen had 47 assists, 12 digs and 10 kills.
Pitt-Johnstown (25-8) advanced to Saturday's championship match against the winner of Friday's second semifinal between Gannon and West Chester. Saturday's title match is slated for 7 p.m. at the Hammermill Center.
