ERIE, Pa. - Gannon men's basketball head coach
John T. Reilly has announced the program's 2017 recruiting class. The group of seven incoming student-athletes includes two freshmen, two sophomores, two juniors and one senior.
The newcomers include

Kofi Mills (Bronx, N.Y./Martin Van Buren),

Daryl Porter (Southfield, Mich./Walled Lake Western),
Daniel Sapp (Streetsboro, Ohio/Streetsboro)Â and
Devin Smith (Baltimore, Md./Newtown).
The 2017 recruiting class will join nine returners from last year's squad: junior

Evan Phoenix (Baltimore, Md./Calvert Hall) and senior
Gerrell Williams (Lorain, Ohio/Clearview). In addition, redshirt sophomore
Frank Webb Jr. (Baltimore, Md./Our Lady of Mount Carmel) returns after transferring to Gannon mid-season last year.

Gannon owns the 15th-highest all-time winning percentage (.638, 1232-699) in the history of NCAA Division II. The Golden Knights have qualified for 10 NCAA Division II Tournaments since 2000, pushing their all-time total of NCAA Tournament appearances to 24.
Reilly's squad concluded the 2016-17 campaign with an 18-10 overall record, falling to No. 5 Kutztown 91-85 in overtime during the PSAC semifinals. The Golden Knights played in the conference final four for the third time during the last four years.

- Was part of a Pine-Richland team that went 67-15 during his high school career
- Helped Pine-Richland win back-to-back Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) Class 6A championships
- Played with a Pine-Richland team that finished state runner-up as a senior
- Was a two-sport athlete, lettering three times in volleyball

- Shot 84.2 percent (112-133) from the free throw line and 41.9 percent (57-136) from the field
- Reached double digits in scoring nine times
- Dished out at least five assists in a game 12 times
- Recorded at least four steals in a contest eight times
- Had more turnovers than assists only twice in 29 games

- Posted a double-double with career-highs in points (25) and rebounds (15) during an 80-68 victory at Mercer County Community College, finishing 11-of-12 from the field
- Averaged 5.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, 0.5 steals and 0.3 blocks as a true freshman
