Wahl returns as Gannon’s closer out of the bullpen.

2011: Made a team-high 17 appearances, coming out of the bullpen 16 times … was a PSAC Scholar-Athlete … received the Division II Athletics Directors Association Academic Achievement Award … was 3-2 with two saves, logging the third-most innings (37.2) on the team … produced a 9.3 strikeout-to-walk ratio, striking out 37 compared to only four walks … limited opposing hitters to a .233 average in 146 at-bats … allowed opposing right-handers to hit only .212 (22-104) … limited the opposition to a .244 average (19-78) with runners on base and a .221 average (15-68) with the bases empty … earned his first career victory during his first appearance of the season, pitching two scoreless innings during a 3-2 victory against St. Xavier (Ill.) … recorded his first career save with a scoreless inning during a 5-2 win against Indiana (Pa.), setting down two hitters via a strikeout … added a second save with another scoreless inning of relief during a 6-3 victory against Lock Haven … evened his record at 2-2 with an inning of work during a 4-3 win against Slippery Rock … made his first career start during the final doubleheader of the season against California (Pa.), receiving the win after tossing a complete game … struck out a season-high six hitters during a 6-3 victory … did not allow an earned run during 11 of 16 relief appearances.

High School: Played for head coach Steve Costea at Somerset Area (Pa.) High School … was a three-time varsity letterwinner … went 10-2 as a senior, finishing his career with a 24-3 record … helped Somerset win the conference championship as a sophomore and junior … was part of a team that advanced to the state championship game … graduated with high honors.
